  • Register and record your time at Rosenberg.beanstack.org
    • If your family participated in last summer’s reading club, you may use the same log-in information to sign up for this year’s challenge. If you’ve forgotten your password, e-mail password recovery is available on the Beanstack site.
  • Just by registering, children through Grade 6 earn a free T-shirt
  • Record at least ten (10) hours of reading to qualify for a trophy
    • Once earned, you must contact the Children’s Department before August 14 to order the trophy.
    • E-mail us at child@rosenberg-library.org or call us at (409) 763 – 8854 ext. 135
  • Random prizes for readers in the Children’s Department reading challenge will be given with curbside pick-up of children’s books (beginning May 26) or in-library check-out (beginning June 1)

Good luck! As you Imagine Your Story this summer, together we’ll Keep Galveston Kids Reading.

Children’s Department Staff from left to right, Michael Ben, Asia, Therese, Karen, Heather, and Brianna. The family-friendly Children’s Department is located on the 1st floor of the Rosenberg Library and welcomes children of all abilities, focusing on birth through the end of 6th grade.

The department offers an amazing selection of materials; a wide assortment of scheduled and drop-in programs; and a thirteen (13) station Computer Lab.

The department is equipped with a built-in puppet stage, and a custom-designed interactive play ship named the R.L.S. Treasure Bound. The ship features manipulatives for our youngest patrons to promote reading readiness by introducing pre-literacy skills.

There are three professional children’s librarians, one reference associate, and two library assistants on staff to provide free outreach programs to groups in the community and are pleased to offer suggestions regarding age-appropriate materials.

To request an outreach program for a group, assistance with recommendations, a class visit to the library, or a puppet show, please contact Karen Stanley at kstanley@rosenberg-library.org or phone (409) 763 – 8854 ext. 119.
