Children’s

Staff and visitors gather around a blue kiddie pool filled with black and yellow baby chicks at Rosenberg Day 2024.

The family-friendly Children’s Department is located on the 1st floor of the Rosenberg Library and welcomes children of all abilities, focusing on birth through the end of 6th grade.

The department offers an amazing selection of materials; a wide assortment of scheduled and drop-in programs; and a thirteen (13) station Computer Lab.

The department is equipped with a built-in puppet stage, and a custom-designed interactive play ship named the R.L.S. Treasure Bound. The ship features manipulatives for our youngest patrons to promote reading readiness by introducing pre-literacy skills.

Staff provide free outreach programs to groups in the community and are pleased to offer suggestions regarding age-appropriate materials.

To request an outreach program for a group, assistance with recommendations, a class visit to the library, or a puppet show, please contact Karen Stanley at kstanley@rosenberg-library.org or phone 409.763.8854 Ext. 119.
